VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We rely entirely upon volunteers to help as many animals as possible!

Besides fostering or adopting an animal in need, there are many other ways in which you can make a meaningful contribution.

Each prospective volunteer is required to complete and submit a volunteer application form and please indicate your areas of interest. We make every effort to find a position that matches an individual’s interests, skills, and availability.

THE CATTERY

Volunteers (Cattery Caretakers) provide care and feeding of Ark cats inside The Cattery at the San Juan Capistrano PetSmart two times a day,  one AM Shift (start time between 9-11am), and one PM Shift (start time between 4-8pm). Training is provided. Minimum age requirement is 18.

DATA ENTRY/VET APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING

Updating The Ark's animal database, bookkeeping, scheduling animal shots and spay and neuter appointments, 

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a vital part of our organization as we receive no governmental funds. Serving as a member on the Fundraising Committee and assistance at Fundraising Events are both very much needed.

TRANSPORT ADOPTABLE ANIMALS

Help transport to and from adoption events and veterinary appointments. Current driver's license required.

STAFF CAT ADOPTION EVENTS

Held on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at The Cattery in the San Juan PetSmart, volunteers give out Ark information, allow potential adopters to interact with the cats, and answer questions. Training is provided. Minimum age requirement is 18. Adoption Event Volunteers are urgently needed, especially for weekend shifts!

STAFF BOOTH AT COMMUNITY EVENTS

The Ark participates in a number of community events, Low cost spay and neuter clinics and so on. At the events Ark representatives are needed to help promote our organization and provide information to the community.

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATION

The Ark is active on Facebook and Instagram and welcomes creative, dedicated volunteers who have experience posting to these platforms.
