The Ark requires 3 things to adopt: an approved adoption application, a signed adoption contract and a paid adoption fee of $175 for cats 1-year-old and over and $210 for kittens under 1-year-old. At times, and for certain breeds, the adoption fee may vary. All cats are altered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (young kittens may still be in the process of getting their shots and surgeries). FIV/FELV testing is only done if recommended by a vet partner. CLICK HERE TO LEARN ABOUT FIV.
Ark cats and kittens listed above are either at The Cattery inside the San Juan Capistrano PetSmart, where they may be seen in person anytime the store is open, or they are temporarily living in a private Ark foster home and can be brought to an Ark Adoption event or arrangements can be made to meet them at their foster home. To meet a cat or kitten in foster care, please call The Ark's main phone number at (949) 388-0034 or send an email to info@arkofsanjuan.org, asking to schedule a "Meet & Greet" appointment with a particular cat or kitten.
