As Mahatma Gandhi  once said so eloquently  . . . "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

As part of our mission, The Ark of San Juan is committed to educating the people of our community about the humane stewardship of their animal companions.  Through these efforts, we hope to foster kindness, respect and empathy for both human and nonhuman animals, looking after the environment and its diverse habitats, as well as learning to care for the animals in our homes and communities.  The Ark does not promote the use of aversive training techniques and/or the use of aversive equipment that elicits pain.

Unlike academic disciplines, humane education has a philosophical component that strives to establish a sense of responsibility and make the world a better, more humane place.

We would be happy to come to your school, club or business and speak about the animal welfare issues that most concern you.
